Another Elevator Thought Experiment

Suppose two people in an elevator:

An argument starts over which one farted.

The fart was silent. They are going down.

Who of the two is the greater fool?

I would say, the one who farted,

because even if he wins the dispute,

after all, what a silly aim—

to convince anyone of such innocence!

However, some people were born to argue

and can’t think of anything better to do.

So the moral is: When an argument starts

in an elevator like this, don’t get into it,

unless, or course, you are innocent,

or alternatively, can’t help yourself.
