Age-handicapped Relay Marathon

Dear Calvin,

Regarding the family-relay marathon:

Have made plans to cut back on smoking.

Next week will start putting less butter on toast.

Beer is likely to remain same.

Find your suggestion of six miles a week a bit arduous.

Not really into endurance jogging, mentally, yet.

What about taking speed that day?

Have you got any steroids at the lab?

Will certainly try to win, however,

Don't want to die of a heart attack either.

Finish standing-- that's my idea.

Hope you can make up for any lost time.

Will contribute a lot of years, of course.

What do you think of the common nap?

If it helps this could be our chief hope.

Meet me at the airport and remember,

Escalators only.

                   Yours Optimistically,

                   Pete

P.S. Good shoes no problem.
