Blue Comb

Under a set that's always on in the TV section of Walmart

lies a public comb left by someone thoughtful

or forgetful. It’s pastel blue, fine-toothed,

five or six inches long,

made of unbreakable nylon, bend it and see,

a few loose hairs, dishwater blonde,

medium long, a little dandruff.

Anyway Anyone,

it's there when you need it.

The only shortcoming: no mirror.

So turn off the TV and look into it dark,

if you don't mind the attention.

It's one of the best bargains out there.
