Knees

A knee is a certain kind of construction,

intended to flex and support.

If you were a carpenter or prosthetist

and built such a thing you’d call it a knee.

I have two made in the last century

By God when He was perhaps at His peak.

They’re getting old, and less flexible,

ailing, sore, complaining.

I force them, sitting on them, saying:

Be knees, you knees. Be knees.
